Where Do You Find Your Backlinks?

Anybody who’s been marketing online for over a few days realizes how huge backlinks are. I myself have been spreading the word for quite a while now, but telling someone to do something isn’t quite the same as telling them ‘where’ to do it. So here are a few tips for helping the marketing folk find their best backlinks.

Social Media – Don’t let the Facebook power go by. Also use Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, and all the others you have time for. These sites are very well suited to give great backlinks, but this means using them quite often and replying to friends.

Directory Listings – This one is simple enough. Some of these are free and others cost. One of the biggies, DMOZ, is totally free. The goal is getting all the keyword rich and highly targeted titles and categories you can. But you need to submit ASAP, because it can literally take weeks before your site gets listed.

Comment On Blogs – Making blog comments is a great way of obtaining backlinks. Be sure to add useful information in your comments, and not come off as just link fishing. Give the people something in return for the backlink

Use Forums – When you’re visiting a forum, then add your links to your site along with your signature, and then post on the threads that hold high page rankings. Use tools like SEO Quake to find high Page Rank forums. Don’t post your links within your replies or you could get banned for spamming.

Article Marketing – Writing articles and then uploading them into directories to get backlinks is an excellent method for obtaining high page ranking backlinks. Always read the rules and write valuable content. You just don’t know when you may receive 100 page views.

Again, there are literally hundreds of methods for getting good backlinks. I could keep writing for days and not cover them all, but these tips here can get you started really well, and launch you toward that coveted spot of number one on Google’s results page.  Soon I will go going over more in depth about getting more authoritative links that are harder to find.
